Who we are

This website is operated by Book Ubud, the family-run operator of Angga Sari Villa in Petulu, Ubud, Gianyar, Bali, Indonesia. We are the data controller for the personal data described here. For any privacy question or request, contact the host on WhatsApp at +62 859-3524-3151.

The short version

We collect as little as possible. The booking form sends your details straight to the host through WhatsApp and never stores them on a web server. Analytics cookies and advertising tags are used only after you press Accept on the cookie banner. We never sell your personal data.

What we collect

Enquiry details you send us: your name, country, arrival and departure dates, guest count, an optional phone number, and any notes you add. The form composes a WhatsApp message on your own device.

Usage data, only with your consent: pages viewed, approximate location at country level, device and browser type, and the actions you take, such as a WhatsApp click or a form submission.

Consent state: your cookie choice, kept in your browser's local storage so we do not ask on every page.

Why we use it, and on what basis

To answer your enquiry and arrange your stay, on the basis of our legitimate interest and steps taken at your request toward a contract.

To measure and improve the site and, where enabled, to measure advertising, on the basis of your consent.

To meet legal and accounting obligations, on the basis of a legal obligation.

Cookies and consent

We use Google Consent Mode v2. Storage defaults to denied, so no analytics or advertising cookies are set and no advertising tags run until you press Accept. Until then, Google Analytics receives only anonymous, cookie-less signals (page, time, referrer and browser type) that Google uses for aggregate and modelled statistics. Reject is as easy as Accept, and rejecting does not limit the site or your ability to book. You can change your choice at any time from the Cookie settings link in the footer.

Maps

The location map is provided by Google and loads when you scroll to it. Loading it lets Google set cookies and receive your IP address. That request is made by Google, not by us. You can block it in your browser without affecting the rest of the site.

Who we share it with

Google: Analytics 4, Google Ads and the Maps embed. Meta: the Facebook and Instagram pixel, when enabled. TikTok: the TikTok pixel, when enabled. WhatsApp (Meta): the message you choose to send us.

Each provider processes data under its own terms. Some of them are outside Indonesia, so using this site may involve an international transfer of data, protected by those providers' standard contractual clauses. We do not sell your personal data.

How long we keep it

Enquiry messages are kept for as long as we need them to handle your booking and to keep our records. Analytics data expires on each provider's own retention schedule. Your consent state stays in your browser until you clear it.

Your rights

Under Indonesia's Personal Data Protection Law (UU 27/2022), and under the GDPR if you are in the European Union, you have the right to access your personal data, correct it, delete it, withdraw consent, object to or restrict processing, and request a portable copy.

To exercise any of these, message the host on WhatsApp at +62 859-3524-3151. We respond within the time the law requires, and within 3 x 24 hours where that applies. You may also lodge a complaint with Indonesia's data protection authority (Lembaga PDP) or with your local supervisory authority.

Children

This site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you book on behalf of a child, you confirm that you have the authority to share their details.

Security and data breaches

The site is served over HTTPS with a firewall and basic DDoS protection. We hold no card data, because we take no payments on this website. If a personal data breach occurs, we follow a notification procedure within 3 x 24 hours as required by UU PDP.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows the current version, and material changes will be highlighted on the site. Continuing to use the site means you accept the current version.
